DR 1336 -- Zhentarim conquered Teshendale along the river Tesh, and then Daggerdale

DR 1340 -- Elves begin the exodus from Cormanthor, and nine of every ten leave to Evermeet

 

DR 1358 -- The Time of Troubles (see below)

 

While only lasting a year, the Time of Troubles (14 years before the start of the campaign in DR 1372) brought great strife to the peoples of Faerun, and to the Gods themselves. Learned sages know more than the common-folk on what transpired, but it was said that the Gods themselves were made mortal and to walk among the people. Wars arrived, and gods went missing.

 

In the Dale Lands, it was rumored that Bane, the Lord of Darkness, the Black Fist, walked among the Zhentarim as they marched their armies south into the Dale Lands. The stories say he was slain by the hand of the god, Torm - known as the True and Loyal Fury. This was just one of the carnival of events that shook Faerun's pantheon at this time. Before the year ended, the Gods were restored to their proper positions - although with some rearrangements. The power of Bane, for instance, was divided between his enemy, Cyric the Lord of Lies, and his son, Iyachtu Xvim.

DR 1359 -- From this year, the conquest of the Zhentarim south into the Dale Lands quieted.

DR 1369 -- Lord Randal Morn retook Daggerdale after the successful siege of Daggerfalls

 

DR 1372 -- Our adventure begins.

DR 1372 -- 23 Mirtul: Tilverton was destroyed, leaving nothing but a concave crater.

​

DR 1372 -- 1 Flamerule: The party meet near the township of Deepcut.

​

DR 1372 -- 2 Flamerule: The murder investigation of Hoseph the Blacksmith begins. The Leafcutter guild are implicated owing to a suspected argument.

​

DR 1372 -- 3 Flamerule: Encounter with Twelve and with Jierdaan at the Turnfork Inn, where the group learn the Zhentarim are infiltrating the Daggerlands with doppelgangers, and there is a schism with the Priesthood of Cyric.

​

DR 1372 -- 4 Flamerule: Rubyem, Freli's aunt, is visited in Daggerfalls. It is evident she is a Zhentarim agent. The group discover the first blackrock and discover its magical applications. The group understand that blackrock has been transported to Daggerfalls from Deepcut. The group relay its findings to Lord Morn.

DR 1372 -- 5 Flamerule: Group contract with Lord Morn to work as his agents.

​

DR 1372 -- 6-8 Flamerule: Group journey (and arrive) at the abandoned dwarven fortress, Felzenheim. At the fortress, the group learn of an astronomical event of planetary alignment due to occur in the future, and in which the God Magubliyet has an interest.

DR 1372 -- 9 Flamerule: Group encounter Jierdaan and his entourage outside Felzenheim, and learn that the chalice of everlasting water they have been sent to recover for Morn was sought after by the Zhentarim to enable access to the great desert of Anauroch beyond the Desertsmouth Mountains in the West.

DR 1372 -- 10 Flamerule: Fleeing Jierdaan, group make their way back to Daggerfalls. The party unearth clues around the doppelganger infestation of Daggerdale, while Rania befriends a dire wolf.

​

DR 1372 -- 13 Flamerule: The party return to Lord Morn and are rewarded for successfully completing their mission. They elect to return to Deepcut to continue their investigations of the Leafcutters, blackrock -- as well as the Constable, Yessica, who has gone missing.
