Daggerfalls
This city, the capital of Daggerdale, lies on the river Tesh at the start of foothills that border the western mountain range known as the Desertsmouth. The foothills are the base from which Lord Morn fought his guerrilla action during the Zhent occupation, leading to its successful recapture in 1372 DR. At this point in its length, the river Tesh cannot be traversed further upstream owing to the waterfall. The waterfall is not a long, vertical waterfall, but rather a cluster of steep rapids and interconnected pools at different steppes of the looming foothills.
At the base of the rapids is a deep and wide lake that was excavated over time by the falling water from the falls, and which has proven a good natural inland harbor for the city. The lake is one reason why the city was founded here. The harbor of Daggerfalls is a long stone wall, with numerous wooden quays. There is one stone projection on which there is a warehouse-sort of building. On the opposite side of the lake are more buildings.

"Swords are long and deadly, but Daggers are short, plentiful, and no less deadly."
-- Daggerfalls saying
The city itself has a long curtain wall and square towers, beyond which clusters of buildings spill into farmland. The buildings of the city are a patchwork of new, old, and dilapidated. There is some destruction from the Zhent occupation and the battle that was fought here to liberate the city. Toward the southwestern edge of the curtain wall is Lord Morn's citadel and keep, perched on higher group and parallel to the start of the falls.
On the group's first visit to Daggerfalls (arrival Flamerule 3, 1372 DR), they stayed at the comfortable Silver Moon Inn, and visited the house of Freli's aunt, Rubyem, which was located in a neighborhood that had seen better times.

Deepcut
A township south of Daggerdale, Deepcut, was founded after Lord Randal Morn retook Daggerdale in DR 1369. The village is surrounded by a neat-looking palisade of wood, and has around 100 inhabitants.
The settlement was founded to cut wood from the nearby forest on the periphery of Cormanthor -- Deepcutters lead three cutting missions to gather timber from a rare tree called "Goldleaf" that is found out in the woods. Goldleaf is consumed as a delicacy, and is exported to Daggerfalls before it is presumably disseminated across the Dale Lands and beyond. Inhabitants split into three tribes along these lines: The Wolves, The Bears, and the Leopards. To the East of Deepcut is a quay connecting the township to a river via a creek.

Felzenheim
An abandoned dwarven fortress located on the Eastern side of the Desertsmouth mountains, some three days' travel from Daggerfalls. Of note, the complex contained: a throne room and burial chamber, a submerged complex, a bee cave, furnaces, a large orrery chamber, and numerous rooms with no identified purpose. The complex had been taken over by goblins, led there by converging visions from Magubliyet. At the complex, the group grave-robbed a chalice of everlasting water and a powerful magic sword (Elemental Bane, Sword of the Desertsmouth Mountains).

Turnfork Inn
A large 'halfway house' manse located between East and West, splitting the difference between Daggerfalls and Zhentil Keep. The Turnfork sits on the river Tesh, where the Grey River joins it from the south and connects it to Deepcut. The Turnfork Inn has managed to keep neutrality during the turmoil of the Dale Lands, owing allegiance to neither Zhent nor Morn. The party first visited the Turnfork on Flamerule 3, DR 1372 on their way to Daggerfalls. At the inn, the party found a large common room with fighting pit and performing stage; a large balcony with balustrade runs around the upper floor of the room. Tucked out of sight were apartments, bedrooms, and private function rooms. It was at one private function room that the group met "Twelve". Yessica, the constable of Deepcut, alluded to the legend of a river pirate, "Silverpate", who founded the complex with ill-gotten gains, and who had hidden treasure somewhere about the grounds. The inn has a quay on the river, and stables where travelers can pay a reasonable amount for a tow upriver.
